The microcentrifuge Centrisart® A14 is an extremely compact and space-saving device. The powerful centrifuge provides a maximum speed of 14,800 rpm and a capacity of 24 × 2 ml. Microcentrifuge A-14 is ideal suited for nucleic acid isolation and purification using spin-columns and concentrating biological samples using Sartorius Vivaspin® 500 units, but it can also be operated with conventional 1.5 and 2 ml reaction vials. Processes like sample concentration of e.g. antibody solutions by ultrafiltration, desalting or buffer exchange, as well as removal of contaminations with small or very large molecular weights, are particularly supported through the special Vivaspin® 500 ultrafiltration unit-tailored rotor YCSR-A1C. In addition, the microcentrifuge is well-suited to sediment cells or particles in small volumes. The device provides large control buttons and easy-to-read displays to facilitate quick and easy input or selection of centrifugation parameters and convenient operation.
Thanks to its compact dimensions the microcentrifuge Centrisart® A14 fits on any laboratory bench. The low height and the motorized lid lock ensure convenient sample loading and removal. Upon a gentle push the lid closes automatically. On completion the lid can be unlocked by a single key stroke and lifts autonomously. With just one finger the lid can then be opened completely and is securely kept open by a spring mechanism. During centrifugation runs the electronic lid lock prevents accidental opening of the lid to provide extensive user protection.
Microcentrifuge Centrisart® A14 represents exceptional product quality and meets even the highest safety requirements. Amongst others, the high quality is reflected by the low-level noise of max. 53 dB and the chemical resistance of the materials processed. Spreading of aerosols is safely prevented by a rotor cover with quick-locking function and both, the rotor chamber and the rotors can easily be cleaned. With air-driven cooling of the rotor chamber the Centrisart® A-14 reliably ensures uniform temperature distribution and protects samples from overheating. For temperature-sensitive samples, the microcentrifuge Centrisart® A-14C is additionally equipped with an active cooling system.
